What Will You Do At The COVID-19 CROSSROADS?

Spiritual Growth

We find ourselves standing at the CROSSROADS of life–faith, family, career, relationships, ministry, health, and the rest of it–more now than ever before.

The velocity of 21st Century life produces myriad choices–A or B, left or right, up or down, forward or back, fight or flight, in or out…Coke or Pepsi.

But when we rolled up on this crossroad at the COVID-19 Junction, it took mere seconds to realize that this is CLEARLY DIFFERENT. For many it will be THE biggest crossroad of their life. For others, it will certainly make their personal pantheon of significant events.

It took me far too long to figure this out, but eventually I realized that it is IMPOSSIBLE to become an expert at “CROSSROADS decision-making.” That we should not even try because we are not in control of our circumstances. That God reigns over it all.

Since God is sovereign over us at the CROSSROADS, we must seek wisdom through his Word. Listen for discernment. And then repeat the cycle over and over again.

Doing this does not mean we will make the best decision at the CROSSROADS. We must add prayerful introspection to the mix. I do that through these two questions:

  • Does my relationship with Jesus drive the choice I make and are my words and actions Christlike?
  • Will people watching me wonder if my CROSSROADS choice “squares” with my faith profession?

YOU will be making dozens of choices TODAY on how you THINK and ACT in response to what is happening in your COVID-19 reality. They will be compromised in some way if you try to do it alone without filtering them through God’s Word of life.

I ask God to help me base every CROSSROADS decision I make on his Word and direction, especially right now during this COVID-19 Crisis.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

How do you make decisions at the COVID-19 CROSSROAD?

“Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths and where the best road is. Walk in it, and you will live in peace.” Jeremiah 6:16
