I Never Thought My Intense Pain Would Be “OK”

Easier said than done, right? Of course!

But we can get to this glorious place and experience its bountiful blessings if we trust God’s promises. If we believe that God is in full–not partial–control.  If we release the hurt and allow the healing.

It’s all about EXPECTATIONS.

More specifically…it’s a matter of pushing aside our UNMET EXPECTATIONS and stop fixating on what we think “ought to happen.”  And that takes trusting him for everything. And that takes filling the hole of unmet expectations with God’s perspective. And that takes prayer to win the expectations battle.

Living with expectancy must drive our attitude in prayer. If we don’t pray expectantly that God has a plan to use our pain and move us in a new and joyous direction, how in the world can he?

Try it. It will be ok. Absolutely ok. Honest.

For me, I ask God to help me accept that the negative and painful things he allows in my life have a purpose far beyond that which I will ever be able to reason or understand. .

HOW ABOUT YOU?

What is your reaction to life when things don’t go as planned? Do you turn up the volume of God’s voice and listen intently to hear what he wants you to do with your pain and disappointment?

“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.” Philippians 1:20

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
