Once I developed spiritual rhythm and was growing as a Christian, I started to sense God’s purpose in my life and how that would be manifest through my gifts and passions.
It was great! But it turns out that this growth was just the starting point.
It wasn’t long before God started to use my spiritual momentum to teach me about another FAITH IMPERATIVE—emulating Christ is EVERY part of my life. Yes, even the mundane, difficult “drudgery” that seems to show up when the starting gun goes off each morning and we set out to tackle the day.
“Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” Luke 16:10
I use a three-step approach to seek God’s help in running toward the REALITY of life that passes through my mind’s cinema each day.
Step one is to be COGNIZANT of the “little” things that are so easily missed. These are the circumstances that appear throughout the day.
Step two is to view those circumstances as OPPORTUNITIES.
And step three is to consider those opportunities as RESPONSIBILITIES to let Christ be illuminated for others through me.
