I Got In Trouble And Forgot To Drop God’s Anchor

Spiritual Growth

The Holy Spirit helps us understand the things of God.

It took me awhile to get over my nonsensical thinking that the Holy Spirit was some kind of complicated and daunting presence. But it all came together for me when God illuminated his truth that no believer ever earned his or her salvation, and no one can ever lose it.

That Christianity offers a sense of security that is unavailable anywhere on earth.

And that it comes from the Holy Spirit, who encourages a prayerful and simple belief in Jesus Christ as God’s Son and in the Word of God.

Divine truths may sound like mere foolishness to those outside of Christ, but to Christians they are the things of the Spirit.

We need to live in the Holy Spirit’s anointing and stop relying on our own natural ability and inclination to play BOSS of our life.

“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:14

This has been a tough one for me, but I stay at it by asking to keep me focused on his truth:

“The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.” John 14:26.
