Avocados must be harvested every day of the year to satisfy the stratospheric demand. What is not harvested on any given day must be harvested the next day with that day’s harvest. Miss two days and on the third day there are three days of volume to harvest. It’s the law of COMPRESSION. What isn’t done today is pushed to tomorrow and forced into a new, compressed schedule.
com·pres·sion /reduction in volume causing an increase in pressure.
Our faith life is subject to SPIRITUAL COMPRESSION. Whatever we put off today is forced into a compressed time window tomorrow. What’s at stake? Finding and activating our life purpose.
Procrastination is about putting off today what must be done tomorrow. Compression is about considering the consequences of putting off today what must be done tomorrow. And those consequences are serious! Every delay creates more compression (pressure) on activating our faith.
Most believers readily admit they fall short of ideal when it comes to stewardship of time and activating their faith. While we would not call it “wasting time,” we would feel bad about not doing what God wants us to do.
Making matters worse and much more challenging is the reality that Satan is using our propensity to delay as his choke-hold to minimize our eternal contribution to the Kingdom of God.
The only way to fight through this “action apathy” is to know that delays in fully activating our faith are not from God. Of course we don’t feel like we’re ready and we probably aren’t! But God will teach us as we go because we will NEVER feel like we are ready! And that means we will never even start.
I ask God to help me take action for him and not allow compression in my ability to serve him and others.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Is there any compression in your faith walk?
