WATCH OUT—The Bubble Wrap Can Became PERMANENT.

The CHRISTIAN BUBBLE is a “safe haven” Christians seek to minimize or avoid contact with the “world.”

I get it. Bubble wrap keeps things from breaking or changing shape. Consider the compelling difference between transporting an antique vase across town loose in the back seat or bubble wrapped in a box. I chose the loose approach ONCE, but from that point on I’ve been going with bubble wrap.

The CHRISTIAN BUBBLE is a place of safety. Inhabitants living there are individually wrapped like a mummy resting comfortably in its sarcophagus. Citizens of the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE can live with the “rules” spelled out. You know: How to talk. How to act. How to pray.

Another reason why so many believers are attracted to the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE is how it helps them avoid being exposed to people “on the outside.” It makes twisted sense. Going out into the world means we are headed for the uncertain. The unknown. The uncomfortable.

Staying inside the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE allows believers to watch others living “on the outside” without having to rub elbows with the secularists. From that “safe” vantage point we are tempted to LABEL (and judge) the outsiders.

God says do not label them…LOVE them!

Our mission is to escape from the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE and get those “outsiders” to love Jesus  because we loved them enough to make the introduction, not because they are “lost.”

That approach is a GAME CHANGER. Try it!

What’s at stake?

If we never venture outside the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE, we cannot fulfill our role in the GREAT COMMISSION:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

If we never venture outside the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE, we cannot follow God’s GREAT COMMANDMENT mandate:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” Matthew 22:37

We are to bring Christ’s light to those in darkness. How can we do that living in the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE?

I ask God to help me avoid the temptation to live in the CHRISTIAN BUBBLE and, instead, venture out into the real world to tell people about HIM.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

How often do you wear bubble wrap?

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
