Thinking This About Your Faith? “I’M ALL GOOD”

Spiritual Growth

The vexing question below has been around for over 2000 years and every believer—you, me, all of us—face it TODAY:

“How can Christians be SPIRITUALLY DISCIPLINED and ACTIVATE THEIR FAITH to live a Christ-like life?”

STICK WITH ME! PLEASE DON’T STOP READING. This question is even more relevant today as 21st Century living is showered by sparks flying from a kaleidoscope of technological change.

The question’s answer? God’s WORD produces FAITH…and we need its nourishment every day.

This message may be familiar to you, but it’s a foundational girder in developing SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE and maturity that must be revisited often.

It’s a message that we must continually drive into our mind and heart. God’s WORD and its promises are a gift of love we cannot earn. It’s a gift of mercy we receive because of God’s grace.

Christians do nothing to earn their faith. It is the product of what Christ did on the Cross. And with that comes the responsibility to fully activate it in our life.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

But we cannot panic over that daunting task. There is nothing mysterious about activating our faith. No magic formula. No list of “dos and don’ts.”

Deep faith in Christ comes from a committed heart that leads us to daily surrender to God and embracing faith-building habits day-in and day-out.

It is important to remember that the notion of “GOOD Christians” is very dangerous. The aim is to be MATURE Christians.

But that doesn’t “just happen.” It takes a commitment followed up by consistently taking tiny steps that, over a lifetime, strengthen our faith and lead us deeper and deeper into God’s inner sanctuary.

HERE ARE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF FAITH:
Read, Study, and Activate GOD’s WORD in your life. FELLOWSHIP and grow spiritually with other Christians. Help others around you by SERVING them in the name of Jesus. Share your FAITH STORY with those who do not know Christ. WORSHIP God and pray in every aspect of your life.

It may not be a conscious decision, but when we put off ACTIVATING OUR FAITH, we gravitate toward “FAKING IT.” But activating our faith is about showing up and starting. And you CANNOT FAKE SHOWING UP.

I ask God to draw me close to him so I can grow my faith.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Have you made a commitment to GROW YOUR FAITH?

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
