This just in from our ministry’s global online tribe: “Mark, I want to have more faith but I don’t know how.”
That vexing question has been around for over 2000 years. But it is even more relevant now as we are showered by sparks flying from a kaleidoscope of terrifying technological change.
The answer? God’s Word produces FAITH.
It’s a gift of love we cannot earn. It’s a gift of mercy we receive because of God’s grace. It’s a gift of hope we get to love him more and fear less.
Christians do nothing to earn their faith. It is the product of what Christ did on the Cross.
Our faith comes with a responsibility to fully activate it in how we live our life. But we cannot panic over that daunting task. There is nothing mysterious about developing our godly faith. No magic formula. No list of do’s and don’ts.
Deep faith in Christ comes from a committed heart that leads us to daily surrender to God and embracing faith-building habits day-in and day-out.
It is important to remember that the notion of GOOD Christians” is very dangerous. The aim is to be MATURE Christians. But that doesn’t “just happen.” It takes hard work and consistently taking tiny steps that, over a lifetime, strengthen our faith and lead us deeper and deeper into God’s inner sanctuary.
THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF FAITH
- Read, Study, and Activate GOD’s WORD in your life.
- FELLOWSHIP and grow spiritually with other Christians.
- Help others around you by SERVING them in the name of Jesus.
- Share your LIFE MISSION with those who do not know Christ.
- WORSHIP God and pray in every aspect of your life.
I ask God to remind me of the things I need to do to stay close to him and grow my faith.
