WHY do we need to understand the reason God has us on earth and in his family?

Of course it’s for our spiritual fulfillment, joy, and destiny. And it produces eternal perspective and practical direction to life.

But there’s more!

Understanding our purpose is the gateway to serve others.
  
I think of it as the IN-ORDER-TO rule. We are in God’s family in order to intentionally seek out (HUNT) for opportunities to serve him because they will rarely, if ever, just drop in our lap.
  
Remember…serving others is NOT a transaction. It is produced by a surrendered heart. That’s why we need to be connected to God and in his Word on a regular basis.
  
“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2

IT WORKS

Here’s my approach…
  
I ask God to help me stay connected to my life purpose and always be hunting for opportunities to serve others and share the Good News. And I ask him to help me stay focused on growing spiritually by having child-like faith and excitement to spend time with him and his Word.
  
Why? Because I know that my surrender will come out of that connection.
  
“Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Luke 18:17
