If We Ever Needed a Strong Tower, it is RIGHT NOW

Life on planet earth has always been tough. But there is something different about RIGHT NOW that startles our attention away from a peaceful pasture and puts it on zip line to a dark forest of fear. The pandemic seems to have dropped a net over all of us and made us question our safety. Wonder about our security. Tremble over our future.

If there was ever a time where we needed a strong tower to feel safe, it is now. Right now.

I have known about God’s STRONG TOWER in Proverbs for many years. But this part of the Bible has recently taken on new meaning for me and offered new hope for my future. This short verse is packed with power to take our mind and heart back to God’s peaceful pasture.

“The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10

To find safety in God’s tower, we must first fully RELEASE CONTROL of our life to him. After all, that is the point—God offers safety, not us.

Proverbs 18:10 reminds us that God’s NAME represents more than something we use to refer to him. It stands for WHO he is and WHAT he has done for us. He is the living and true God who created Heaven and earth.

He steers us away from the dark toward his righteous light. He escorts us away from our sin. He shepherds us through life’s winding and unpredictable road.

God’s tower cannot be breached.

There is no other place for believers to be protected from danger. That’s why we need to run, not walk, to his strong tower. But he does not want us coming with unconfessed sin.

“If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” Psalm 66:18.

Running to GOD’S TOWER demonstrates our knowledge of him and provides evidence of our spiritual discipline and maturity. Those who run to and reach GOD’S TOWER are safe from danger and protected from the Enemy who stalks them.

I thank God for covering me with the righteousness of Christ who is my strong tower of refuge and provides everything I need in this life.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Do you need to climb up GOD’S TOWER today?

“The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10
