I Wanted to be AMAZED by God but Did Not PRAY

Spiritual Growth

Early in my faith walk I wanted to be AMAZED by God. But I had no idea how that happened. I mistakenly thought it would be automatic and that being “a good Christian” would somehow unlock God’s amazing power.

I missed the missing ingredients to being AMAZED BY GOD: Connecting with him through his Word and PRAYING to the Lord of Heaven and earth.

Here’s a fresh example: Just yesterday my life was flooded by GOD’S AMAZEMENT.

After two weeks of intense and focused prayer this month to identify what was next on my faith journey, God gave me a glimpse of that future…and I was AMAZED. Not just because of the magnificent road ahead for me and my ministry, but more for his faithful support and consistent love and grace over my life.

All of that was accessed through his Word and my persistent prayers asking for his discerning direction.

I knew about the power of prayer, but I came out of this experience yesterday with an enlarged and enlightened appreciation for God’s mandate to pray without ceasing…and his AMAZING love for us.

That’s an incredible blessing to be sure. But God does not bathe us in his glory to only feel good (though he does want that). He does it so we will TELL OTHERS!

That’s why I am telling you and Love God Fear Nothing’s tribe this story right now:
I have been praying continually for wisdom over the direction God wants to take my life and my ministry’s goal to help millions of Christians activate their faith in Christ.

It became crystal clear this week that God had indeed answered those prayers. That is powerful on its face, of course. But the real power came to light when I thought back to earlier times when success in these areas looked doubtful.

Things may seem uncertain to us, but God knows every aspect of every human’s life. You. Me. Everyone. He has all the puzzle pieces and knows how they all fit together perfectly for his good purpose. We don’t have to worry. God is AMAZING.

I pray that I never tire of prayer. That I always come to God expectantly. That I am faithful to pray and seek his AMAZING grace.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

When was the last time you were AMAZED by God through your prayers?

“LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” Isaiah 25:1

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” 1 Chronicles 16:24

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
