America is about to celebrate its FREEDOM that we are certainly blessed to live out. That is the EXTERNAL version of life’s freedom and it is very important, of course. But it PALES IN COMPARISON to its much-less-known cousin–God’s INTERNAL freedom.
There are millions of Christians around the world who know they have FREEDOM in Christ but leave most of it in the UNUSED section of their life.
That is a shame if you consider what true freedom in Christ means to a believer. Here is my take on that…
God’s freedom is doing what we love to do IF it is what God wants us to do. True freedom is being free in CHRIST and free from the WORLD (Galatians 5:1).
We secure that level of freedom by going through GOD’S TRANSFORMATION TUNNEL. This is where we release what we want to do but should not do and accept what God wants us to do (and then fall in love with it).
If we reach that glorious state, we can begin our life-long walk with Christ where we shed our OLD “freedom” and summon the Holy Spirit to graft God’s NEW freedom onto our soul.
This is when we get to bask in God’s glory and know that the transformation that just happened would NOT have been possible when we lived under the world’s form of freedom.
This is God’s proof that he changes and transforms through the “renewal of our mind” PAUL writes about in Romans (12:2).
None of this is automatic. We must first decide if we WANT to be FREE. If that answer is yes, the second step is determining how free we want to be.
I ask God to help me claim his full measure of FREEDOM.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
How much of GOD’S FREEDOM are you claiming today?
