God wants us to pray for protection as we pull out of the garage each day with him as the driver. He wants us to pray in advance for protection on every part of our life–health, family, church and business relationships, finances, our future, our hope—all of it.
But praying for this protection once a week at church or even once a day as we start our journey is not enough! He wants us to stop trying to handle all of the challenges we face on the road of life on our own. He wants us to stop driving past his REPAIR SHOP!
If we try to clear everything up on our own, we lose perspective on his divine mind and will. Remember, it is because of tribulation–not its absence–that we see and know God! But getting to that point requires that we STOP and pull in for service before continuing on in our journey.
That’s what happened to me earlier in my faith walk as I tried furiously to make every trial “go away” so I could keep driving toward my goals and dreams without checking in with him for direction.
For me, I ask God to give me the strength to pull off the road of life when things are confusing or painful or challenging and seek your wisdom and repair.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Make a commitment now to pull off the road and roll into God’s Repair Shop—immediately and in the moment–when a new challenge shows up on the road ahead. Try it.
