Rising to a morning sky struggling to light, I feel compelled to tell you “IT’S GOING TO BE OK.” It will be OK because CoronaVirus will not last.
This is my message for today after writing for 10 days about living out our faith in the middle of a global pandemic. We covered topics like:
- Going beyond just GETTING THROUGH CoronaVirus and committing to WINNING THROUGH it through Christ.
- The need to be STILL in Christ through the pandemic to determine what is true and false in our life.
- How society’s operational code is being rewritten by CoronaVirus and creating a massive inflection point that will ANIMATE our future. REDIRECT our priorities. And ACTIVATE our faith (if we allow Jesus to take control).
- The importance of moving beyond passive prayers to power prayers that remind us that Jesus is ALWAYS good.
- Quelling doomsday thoughts that suggest “we are losing everything” and remember that God is in control.
- Destroying unrealistic expectations and turn the anxiety we feel into GLORIOUS UNCERTAINTY by trusting God.
It’s going to be OK because God is sovereign and supreme in all things. We cannot believe God’s truth that tough times will not last and things will eventually be ok; and then add an exception clause that says: “except when there is a global pandemic.”
There are no exception clauses in God’s omnipotent power and loving grace.
We don’t need to be joyful FOR the pandemics and trials of life. We only need to be joyful IN them.
And finally, for all of you who feel ALONE in your pandemic-induced isolation…
Have you considered that Jesus is sitting next to you on the sofa?
I ask God to help me go beyond SAYING the words “everything is going to be ok” to BELIEVING them as his promise.
