If everything is predetermined and imposed, then all we would need to do is show up. Right?

The concept of accounting for all of the challenges in life is antithetical to the idea of trusting God for everything. The negativity consumes us when we seek a predictable pathway with everything fully revealed like a big bang in the sky.
  
The unknown is actually a major part of our walk with God. Faith would not be faith if we had all the answers and never faced any obstacles or doubt.
  
Like a persistent rain beating down on the windshield, questions never retreat. We will never completely understand everything, but that brings us patience knowing that God will deal with the unknown and reveal his will on his timetable.
  
Things will not happen right away, but they will happen–slowly and surely—on God’s timetable.
  
For me, I ask God to help me realize that my life’s path will not be revealed to me in advance with full clarity and everything set in stone. Help me trust your plan as it unfolds.
