Unrelenting fear of the seemingly insurmountable has invaded our society’s collective consciousness. Ravaged our spiritual confidence. And in many cases hijacked our lives to a faraway prison with solitary confinement.
But this is certainly not a new phenomenon. God knows everything about this monster with roots that trace all the way back to the Garden. The presence of this destructive force in our life grieves him because it means our trust in him as our all-knowing and good father is not fully manifest.
Overcoming the insurmountable and its fear co-conspirator does not come from positive thinking and forcing it out of our mind’s cinema. Nope. No way. Overcoming the fear that accompanies the seemingly insurmountable challenges of life comes from trusting Christ and his countless promises of protection.
My approach is to ask God to help me find the strength to trust him when I face what appears to be insurmountable. To bring me into his inner sanctuary. To restore my confidence in him to do all things.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
