He Was TRICKED Into Sinning And He Wants Revenge

This year’s Halloween “celebration” may have passed, but the danger of being TRICKED INTO SINNING by the Enemy is still parked in the driveway of every Christian.

C’mon, tricked into sinning? Absolutely.

Nobody wakes up with a “TO-SIN LIST” on their nightstand. We sin by falling for Satan’s trick that makes something look “irresistible” and feel like what we receive is FREE.

It does not feel like we are “earning wages” when we sin. But that is exactly how the Apostle Paul put it to the Romans:

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:22–23

Associating WAGES with sin was difficult for me to grasp as a new Christian. But the power behind this part of the Bible started to crystallize when I focused on the word DEPLETION.

We are DEPLETED when we work for wages. We give our time and toil in exchange for wages because we have been depleted in some way and to some extent.

SIN is just like that because it depletes us one transgression at a time. If the SIN CYCLE continues, we receive wages that will eventually leave us FULLY DEPLETED and distanced from God.

Our protection is simple: Love God, Hate Sin.

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19

SIN is a liar looking for prey to trick.

GOD is a truth-telling anchor looking for us to embrace SCRIPTURE to counter the Enemy’s lies and lure to sin.

I ask God to gird me for the never-ending battle with Satan and his bag of tricks intended to lure me into sin.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Are you ready to spot the Enemy’s attempt to TRICK YOU INTO SIN?

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:22–23

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
