God’s PEACE PROMISE—John 16:33

I used to chase God’s promises like a kid at a piñata party—swiping wildly and expecting blessings to fall into my lap. Protection. Wisdom. Forgiveness. Help. I wanted it all. But here’s the truth: I was still trusting ME to captain the ship. A prayer here, a verse there, but deep down…I was holding the steering wheel of my life.

Looking back makes me wince. But that’s how faith is formed. It’s a mosaic of missteps and mercy. Over time, God broke my grip on control and taught me that His promises don’t work through half-trust or part-time surrender. They flow when we fully submit—when we stop trying to understand and start trusting with our whole heart.

That’s the essence of God’s PEACE PROMISE in John 16:33:
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Jesus didn’t promise ease. He promised peace in Him. And peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of trust.

Faith isn’t a straight shot to understanding. It’s a steep climb up the mountain of trust, especially when life goes sideways. But the less we understand, and the more we surrender, the greater the glory to God.

He doesn’t ask us to have all the answers. He asks us to believe He is the answer.

So I ask Him—every day—to keep my hands off the wheel. To show me where I’m slipping into self-reliance. And to remind me that His promises are activated by my trust.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Are you trusting God’s PROMISES today? Ask yourself twice.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

Love God. Fear Nothing.
