Have You Appreciated God’s FREE WILL Lately?

Spiritual Growth

Try to remember the moment when you fully realized your total helplessness and KNEW that God had given you complete FREEDOM. When you knew his love was life-changing. When you knew that you were completely transformed.

This was the day your spiritual emptiness was vanquished by God’s greatness and unconditional love for YOU personally. It was a day when you were freed from your sin bondage by God’s sovereign grace. It was a day when you saw Jesus as the most important part of life.

On this glorious day there should have been a twinge of AMAZEMENT over how you ended up in God’s inner sanctuary.

That miracle happened when God’s unlimited grace steamrolled our stubborn defiance and corruption so we could FREELY choose Christ.

We cannot submit to God–apart from Jesus Christ–because of our pervasive love of “independence” which prevents us from making the FREE choice of submission to Christ.

Life would certainly be less complicated if we were mistake-free machines. But machines do not have free will.

Life is full of choices and every one of them carries with it a CONSEQUENCE. Some good. Some bad. Some fatal. Making the right choices can only come when we obey Christ.

God wants us to emulate his thinking. But that cannot happen without FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

Living out our life purpose would be IMPOSSIBLE if God denied us the FREEDOM to make choices. And since part of everyone’s life purpose is sharing the Good News of Jesus, we need to stay committed to that imperative.

Otherwise we will miss reaching out to the millions of people who need to learn about God’s FREE WILL and THEIR opportunity to choose.

I ask God to keep the promise and power of your gift of free will fresh in my mind always so I am ready to share it with anyone and everyone who needs to hear that message.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

When was the last time you gave thanks for God’s FREE WILL and reminded yourself to tell others about that gift?

“As for you, my friends, you were called to be free. But do not let this freedom become an excuse for letting your physical desires control you. Instead, let love make you serve one another.” Galatians 5:13

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
