I woke up this morning with a deep sense of peace as another day emerged from a charcoal sky still lit by the night’s magnificent super moon. I ambled into my quiet time with an extra bounce and a simple thought: GOD PROTECTS ME.
Still unsure why that thought slid into my consciousness, I nonetheless embraced its power to thwart the worry that would surely visit me at some point this day.
When I dug a little deeper to find the power that stood behind the notion of God’s protection, he released the answer like a Stage-5 Run on a river bathed in spring’s crisp and glistening wonder:
God’s promise to protect us no matter what CANNOT BE UNDERMINED, unless of course, we do it ourselves.
The challenge is to remember that in a few hours.
God’s protection promise is not about perfection or prosperity or the absence of difficulties in life. Far from having no suffering in life, God’s Word assures us we will suffer—but he will not let us suffer more than we can bear.
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Did you wake up today aware of GOD’S PROTECTION? Can you feel it now? Will you remember it in a few hours? Will you thank him for it tonight when your head finds a soft spot on the pillow?
“He will not let you fall; your protector is always awake.” Psalm 121:3
