I Walked Right Past The Doors God Had Opened

Spiritual Growth

I’m not proud of it, of course, but it’s true nonetheless.

I had accepted Christ, but did not have a relationship with God. When I heard people proclaim that Jesus is the light of the world, it simply did not register.

That’s why for 22 years I walked past hundreds and hundreds of doors God had opened for me to enter and illuminate his magnificence for others to see.

And then God knocked me to my knees with his truth that being a light for Christ does not require our perfection. It simply requires us to walk through the doors that God opens to connect our light with the world’s darkness.

Our light must shine because people are enveloped by a cloud of spiritual darkness and some of them will never find God except through us. These folks are “evaluating” Christianity on the basis of what we show them inside the doors God keeps ajar.

Being a light for Christ in a dark and dying world will never happen if we waltz past doors he opens.

I ask God to give me the foresight and strength to stop at the doors he opens on my life’s journey so I can shine his light in that space. All and always to his glory.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Are you walking past any doors that God is opening for you to enter and touch others for him?

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
